Yoga Nidra/Deep Relaxation

Yoga nidra is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. In yoga nidra I take you on a journey by keeping the mind so busy, it and your body unwinds.

For absolute relaxation you need to remain aware, although appearing to be asleep. You will find yourself in the threshold state between sleep and wakefulness where contact with the subconscious and unconscious dimensions occur spontaneously.

Also in yoga nidra we each bring a sankalpa (resolve) we wish to work with and repeat to ourselves at specific times during the practice.

Yoga nidra is also an aspect of pratyahara which is the 5th limb of yoga. Pratyahara is about withdrawing our senses from all that is otherwise distracting us from ourselves.
My yoga nidra classes begin with some stretches, just to prepare the body for lying still for a lengthy time. Please wear very comfortable clothing and even bring a favorite blanket.
